North American Language Institute - NALI is a non-profit English Language School located in Huancayo, Peru. The program was developed to help students to improve their speaking ability by interacting with fellow students and North American English-speaking teachers. Potential missionary interns/volunteer teachers need not speak any Spanish, and can stay for as little as 3 months to 2 years. Goals: The language institute’s goals are several-fold: - To offer a much desired commodity (English language lessons) to the Peruvian population of Huancayo. Knowledge of English is highly-valued and language classes here are literally over-flowing with students. Our advantage… all of our classrooms will have native English speakers from the USA as teachers – a quality that has already created a buzz among students and high-demand on us!
- To use Christian volunteers to teach, and most importantly, to build Christian relationships with the students. We seek to foster Christian growth and to nurture our students into a deeper understanding of faith and of Christ. We believe in relational ministry. We want to build relationships with students that will eventually build relationships with Christ.
- To identify natural leaders from within our student body and develop them into Christian leaders who can lead their own culture and people into meaningful relationships with Christ.
- In the event that we have significant financial gains, the language institute will financially sustain other ministries through the class fees/”profits”. Our other ministries continue. The language institute does not take the place of other ministries. It is just one more that we are involved in.
